2009 Holiday Waste Collection Schedule
There is no waste collection on Metro Government holidays. When a holiday falls on a weekday, all collections for that day (garbage, yard waste, bulk waste and curbside recycling) will be canceled and collected the following day. All collections for the remainder of the week are delayed by one day. The staffed recycling centers will also be closed in observance of the holidays.
The following holidays will be observed for 2009:
January 1 – New Year’s Day
January 19 – Martin Luther King Jr. Day
May 25 – Memorial Day
July 4 – Independence Day
September 7 – Labor Day
November 26 – Thanksgiving Day
December 25 – Christmas Day
The Household Hazardous Materials drop-off site known as HAZ BIN will be closed in observance of the following holidays.
May 23 - Memorial Day - weekend
July 4 - Independence Day
September 5 - Labor Day - weekend
November 28 - Thanksgiving - weekend
December 26 - Christmas - weekend
